M4a3 Sherman 76mm WWII miniature wargaming vehicle
M4a3 Sherman 76mm WWII miniature wargaming vehicle

Apart from the hull, the difference between the M4 and the M4A3 was the engine which was deigned specifically to power tanks. None of these vehicles went into the "Lend Lease" program until late 1944 and not until the U.S. requirements had been filled. It was the preferred model of the U.S. army. This model underwent the most production, modifications and armament changes of any of the M4 tanks. The M4A3 saw service in both Europe and the Pacific until the end of the war.

The model comes in the following parts for easy assembly:

  • Lower Hull
  • Upper Hull
  • Right and left track sections
  • Hull machine gun
  • Turret with gun mantel
  • M1 76mm gun barrel
  • Tank commander with hatch doors
  • Plus extras such as tank accessories, turret MG and more!

The model was designed with war games in mind. Most miniature games have rules concerning the tank commander being out of the open hatch observing the battle field and giving bonus to his crew for spotting, firing and such. This is now very easy to show by simply placing the tank commander in place to show he is “unbuttoned” or remove him to show he has “buttoned up” for safety in a hostile environment. (NOTE:  Above image is meant for an example only, and may not be the exact model featured on this page.)
